Bower - X
The Bower-X is a German made folding camera marketed in the U.S. by Saul Bower Inc, NY, NY USA. The camera pictured here is especially rare because it is marked on the back leather "Made In Germany: US Zone" which indicates that it is a very early model. The literature I have dates production of these cameras to 1951 - 1958. The markings on this camera leads me to think it was closer to WWII but I could be wrong. The lens is a Schneider-Kreuznach Radionar 1:4.5 105mm lens with a red triangle in s Prontor -SV shutter with pc flash socket. The shutter has speeds of B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200. The lens has scale focusing and stops down to f22. It was designed to take 620 film, but it can still be used by re spooling 120 film. There are two red windows on the back for 6x6 or 6x9 size frames.
