No.3
ownie Model B

The Kodak No.3
ownie Model B is an old box camera. The last patent date on the camera is 1901. According to my research these cameras were produced from 1908-1934. I think that the early patent date means that this is an early model. I compared it with the photo on page 477 of McKoewn's and this one doesn't have the metal piece around the shutter release, and no marks where the nails holding it in would have been, so I think the early models were slightly different than the later ones. There are two metal shafts on the top of the camera. One controls the shutter, setting it between Time ( T ) and Interval ( I ). The other controls the aperture by moving three water house stops in front of the lens. The camera was designed to take 3.25 x 4.25 exposures on 124 roll film. The outer body of the camera is wood covered with leather and the inner portion is made of sheet metal.
